What if I do not upgrade all historical data to new SLA architecture?

Hi, I'm in my second try of upgrade to 12.1.3.  I let upgrade to choose itself the periods to migrate. Checking accounting data (balances and so on)  it seems that  everything is ok.  This leads me to wonder if it's really necesary to migrate all historical data. What can I expect if I do not do it?. Are there functionalities, reports, etc that will not show correct information?.
