Windows 2008 Oracle service shuts dwon abruptly

I  have oracle enterprise edition 10.2.0.4 running on Windows 2008 R2 . The Oracle windows service shuts down for no reason causing the instance to terminate.

Since it it instanteneous shutdown nothing is written to the  alert log. Starting the service again and later starting the instance poses no pboblems.

We are suspecting this to  be because of memory leak in windows.  Will applying patch KB981314 on windows help ?
