Solaris 11 display configurations - HAL and Xorg

in Oracle Solaris System Administration (MOSC) Question
 Solaris 11 has fully implemented hald and will not even run Xorg -config.
Is there any kind of document for configuring displays.  I'm trying to configure a Dell E2011H monitor in 1600x900 mode for testing Solaris 11 before migration, but it only gives options of 1024x768.  Everything is supposed to be configured in HAL, but I can't find anything in man for any configurations or on the support site .  Any help?
