Capital Projects without Oracle Assest Module

We need to create Capital Projects (Ability to take total cost of an asset for Capitalization when asset is placed in Service). We do NOT have Oracle Assets. Would it worth creating these "Capital Projects" as Indirect Project to collect costs or we shall use the Capital Class? If we do NOT use Capital Class on Project Type then What would the potenial issues would be?

Any suggestions would be helpful.
