Database Install/Upgrade/Opatch (MOSC)

Install 11.2.0.3 patch in to 11.2.0.1.4 Oracle Home.

Hi All.

I need to install 11.2.0.3 patch in to my ORACLE_HOME 11.2.0.1.4.  i have Grid Infrastructure  Standalone version installed to support Oracle Restart and have seperate GRID_HOME.  10 databases exist on one server and have 2 servers for Production and Test.  OS linux 64bit, Redhat Enterprise 5.

1.     Should i follow this note to upgrade my databases  NOTE:1276368.1?

2. When installing ORACLE software how i select the new ORACLE_HOME path?  Eg now my ORACLE_HOME path is /data01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1. So what should be the new path?

eg:  /data01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_2  

The how diagnostic Destination path work? So should i use same location  that is ORACLE_BASE  (/data01/app/oracle).
