11i 32bits or 64bits

Hi,Our Apps tier is on Sun Solaris 64bits, we planning to migrate it to Red Hat Linux x86_64bits. Oracle doc stated that only 32bits OS is supported for 11i on x86_64 platform. Can we run 32bits 11i Apps tier on Linux 64bits OS in 32bits emulation mode? Our 11i Apps can run on SOlaris 64bits platform why not Linux 64bits?
