Calculation of reserve Quantity

Hi,

I have following scenario:

Item A is Lot and grade enabled.

In OM overship tolerance is set to 5% and undership tolerance is set 10%.

On hand inventory shows following

Item                             grade                                qty (ATR)

Item A                          X                                      100

Item A                          Y                                         50

Item A                          Z                                         20

Order is created for Item A with Grade X and Ordered qty 99. System shows alert for insufficient inventory to reserve.

same order is created with overship tolerance to 0, no alert appears.

I want to know the

a. formula that derives the qty to be reserved?

b. any possibility to change the formula to exclude overship tolernace?
