Has anyone experienced performance problems (very slow item saves) when using the Commodity field on

As part of a Product Cost Management rollout, we are trying to utilize the standard title block attribute called "Commodity".  However, whenever we use this field, we experience extremely slow item saves of 4 to 5 minutes.  We're curious if others have encountered this problem.  If so, how was it resolved?  We are working an SR with Support, but I was surprised to find this issue has not previously been noted in the knowledge base.
