Does ZFS's usage of flash memory tries to "spread writes" to maximize its lifetime?

edited Nov 21, 2011 11:49AM in Oracle Solaris System Administration (MOSC) Question
Hello,

I'd like to know a little more about how ZFS uses flash memory.
In fact we've been told that ZFS makes smart/intel
igent use of flash memory.
But is it only related to file system operations or in maximizing flash memory lifetime as well?

Can we know more precisely slightly better what how smart/inteligent compared to "dumb" flash caches or SSDs?

Thanks in advance,
Carlos.
