How to get Avg. Number of days to convert lead

I want to get the average number of days to convert a lead doing the same calculation as there is in the metrics however instead ofusing the created date i want to use a custom date (as the created date isnt the same.

How would i find the date that the status was changed? is tehre a way? or a way to use the fields in audit trail?
