Subsidy Visible to Customer flag

I am testing a Subsidy in OLFM R12, and have configured the Visible to Customer value to Yes - this will ensure any internal users reviewing subsidy contracts will be able to see the original cost and the subsidised cost.

What I am unclear on is the implication of setting this value to Yes, beyond the internal users. Would the subsidised value be available via self-service for example?
