R12 Sales Journal by Account (XML)

Two quesitons on Sales Journal by Account (XML) for R12.

1)  Is there another report that can summarize by Account Class with totals?  We don't need all the details for one of our month end reporting requirements.

2)  Is there something I am missing about the R12 XML formats in general?  This one in particular looks terrible and is a good example.  I wondered if there is something we need to do with the XML reports in general so they are useable.  Issues I see on most across all applications:

• Many times pages have no column headers (this one is an example)
