Ora data files and RAID 5

My Win 2003 server runs on RAID 5 (Please don't tell me to change to 0-1 or 10 as 5 is it).  I've been told in my Ora training classes that Ora data files should be placed on different disks to avoid disk contention. Would that still make sense in my case since in RAID 5 we only deal with volumes?  A volume (something conceptual) can spread out to several physical disk.  If that disk contention avoidance scheme is useless, can I just put all the tablespaces in one or a few data files on one or a few volumes

Howdy, Stranger!
