Physical Inventory and Reservations

We are trying to conduct a physical inventory in Oracle R12, but are not allowed to adjust the inventory down because there are reservations against the item.  This item is a high volume item with many reservations.  As anyone encountered this issue and if so how did you approach a resolution?
