Significance of the Install_date and active_start_date in installbase

Hi,

The scenario here is as these are old shipments before 3.4 years we are using this way to create extended waranties thru custom process.

we are importing few of the shipments from OM to installbase using the csi_instance_interface table.

we are passing the actual shipment date as the install date and sysdate to the actual start date.

During the custom process of creating the extended waranties we are making use of the install date and calculating the start date and end dates of the contracts.

hope with this there will not be any impact , want to confirm from discussion forum that this approach is not wrong.
