After database shutdown I can see job processes on the server related to the database.

I performed a database patch the other day.

After I had shutdown the database I performed a ps -ef|grep -i oracle to ensure nothing was running out of the oracle home to be patched.

I saw a number of processes related to the database just shutdown as per below.

I had not expected to see any processes related to this databases.

Please could someone explain what these processes are ?

Thanks,

Neil

$ ps -ef|grep -i oracle

.....

.....

 oracle  516314       1   0   20 Oct      -  0:00 ora_j000_DATABASE

 oracle  553190       1   0   01 Nov      -  0:00 ora_j000_DATABASE

 oracle  761878       1   0   02 Nov      -  0:00 ora_j001_DATABASE

Howdy, Stranger!
