Disbale HAIP

We have installed 11gR2 (11.2.0.2) GI with HAIP.  However, we found out that pre-11.2.0.2 dbs crash when one of the interfaces dies and HAIP failes over to the other. 

We now want to disable HAIP and go with bonded private interfaces.  Has anyone done this?  Do we just use oifcfg commands or are there other things to consider to switch from HAIP to bonded private interface?  Any other gotchas?
