Unable to read attachments from Oracle Email Center by using IM_API.GETATTACHMENTDATA API

Sending an email with attachment to Oracle Email Center. Checking the attachments by opening it in Email Center and they are fine. Now using IM_API.GETATTACHMENTDATA API i am trying to download into unix file system. After creating the file, trying to open it. But the file is not opening properly. Some garbage data is displaying. Can someone help me on this.
