Using Siebel Biztalk connector

All,
We are currently using webservices from Siebel for in- outgoing data, with MS BizTalk as middleware. I'm wondering what would be the benefits (performance?) in using the Biztalk connector? We are currently on Siebel version 7.8. I already noticed a product defect in this connector in Siebel version 8.0 and higher. Any experiences in this area?
