SUN Cluster Queries - Newbie

Hi,

In a 2 node SUN cluster for Oracle DB, if Oracle DB failed to startup, what is the appropriate way to troible shoot? Should it be convert the cluster to standalone and convert back to cluster again after problem rectified? If so, how to go about it?
