MS OLE DB provider returns error ORA-06413

Not sure iif I've chosen the right community category, but at our college our oracle instructor has students with 32 bit & 64 bit laptops with Windows 7 on them and when trying to connect the 64bit ones get the error ORA-06413

They are using 11gR2 and the product files are installed in folder structure "C:\Progarm Files (x86)", the instructor has researched this and says it's due to the parenthesis in the path.
