Any way to color-code account status?

Hello,

I've created an 'Account Status' field for both cases (SR's) and activities, using the JoinFieldValue function to bring over the Status from the Accounts table.

The next step is to be able to color code the displayed field if the status is Inactive.  I'd like for any case or activity generated to show the account status in red if the account is Inactive.

It doesn't look like this is possible using picklists, but maybe I'm overlooking something?  Would this be possible by creating a web applet?
