Grants Accounting 11i: recommended value for profile option GMS: Purge Funds CheckResults ?

context: public sector (international) 11i , many years in production
Profile option value has been 30 days for "GMS: Purge Funds CheckResults" (no recent change);  the customer is now questioning it.
Beyond performance issues explained in note 950195.1, is there a recommended value or best practice?
