CAN A CUSTOMER MAKE A DEPOSIT FOR A SPECIFIC ITEM OR FOR A SPECIFIC SALES ORDER (DEPOSIT COMMITMENT
What I did was creating a deposit in AR.
The commitments tab becomes available.
In this tab I can enter information, and the information that I can type in, is not documented anywere. So I was wondering what the purpose is of these fields and what the expected behavior is of these fields.
My explanation was for the item field:
If you create a sales order for a customer were yoy created a deposit for, that that deposit was specifically created for the sales of that item.
For the Transactionfield:
When selecting Order Entry (or order management) you can type in all kind of Order Management related information. My assumption was that if you populated these field at the creating of a deposit, that the deposit was specificaly made for that specific sales order.
