PAY: Update an Element Entry for a previous Assignment

Hi,

I am trying to update an element entry for an assignment which is end dated in 17-OCT-2011. But there is a active assignment for this person as on sysdate.

Present Assignment: 123456-4

Previous Assignment: 123456-2 end dated on 17-OCT-2011.

Business wants to recover a loan amount from 123456-2 assignment.

Could anyone suggest the best way to do this?
