How to stop the local asm instance in rac11g/DG-active/active?
scenario:
Trying to apply a backport patch in a rac11g cluster which has physical copies of production databases (using DG/Active).
per patch README, applying patch in Grid home (where asm is) and db_home
one node at a time
Shutting down all database instances,... OK
...Unable to shutdown (force) the ASM instance...because of 'a client still connected'...probably DG?

What am i doing wrong.?

---step from README:
  1. When applying the patch to the Grid Infrastructure home, ensure that you shut down all the resources running from the Oracle home of Oracle Grid Infrastructure. When applying the patch to an Oracle Database home, stop all resources running from that Oracle home.

Howdy, Stranger!
