Accelerated Depreciation of an Asset

     Management has made a decision to increase the depreciation of a fixed asset that still has a few years left.  The desire is to charge an amount against the asset at year end so that there are only 3 months remaining before the asset is fully depreciated.

     From what I've read within the discussion postings, I have interpreted that JDE didn't explicitly program for this event scenario.  So at this time we are testing a few proceedures to find one suitable for our needs.  I would expect that along with a depreciation adjustment journal entry we will be required to adjust the asset's life to reflect that only three more months remain before it fully depreciates.
