How to display Ordered and shipped Quantities with comma delimiters

Our users have a need to display the Quantities as comma delimited. I do see the Amounts showing as comma delimited but not the quantities. Has anyone had a similar requirement if so how did you all handle it. We tried setting the profile ICX: Numeric characters 10,000.00
This did not help. In addition I did verify that the preferences for Number Format was set to 10,000.00

I would really appreciate if anyone has any recommendations on how this can be accomplished.
