Hi,        Recently, in the company where I work, they copied the database files from a physical standby database(10g) at O.S. level. The recovery process was not stopped. Primary database was not in hot backup mode.
This backup is restored in other server and recovered the database without any issue.
         Wont this backup hold inconsistent data?

      One more question related to recovery,
I am aware of why the database need to be taken to hot backup mode when copying the files at O.S. level.
But, if we copy the files at O.S. level without putting the database in hot backup mode, then the blocks will hold inconsistent data.
