Custom fields copy from Opportunity to Quote using Auto Quote functionality

Hi Experts,

                    One of the customers is trying to add custom fields on Opportunity header level. By clicking on Auto Quote button, they want to copy the custom fields from Opportunity header level to Quote header level.

I was not able find out if there are datamaps or signals which invokes this.

Can you please provide the steps to acieve the above functionality.
