Do I have to install IBM XL C/C++ before starting to instal 11g

Hi ,
I am planing to install Oracle 11.1.0.7.0 and 11.2.0.3.0 on a AIX 6.1 server. According to
the installation guide, as a prerequisite I need to install 'IBM XL C/C++ for AIX'.

How ever on two of your existing Oracle database servers , this C compiler is not installed.
There are already uat and prod Oracle 11.1.0.7.0 single instance database on them and running fine.

My question is that 'Can I ignore this requirement and start installing Oracle 11g?'
