11g and restart of Oracle through the schedule

Hello,

I just installed my first 11g instance standard edition and I am getting emails that the instance is stopping and restarting itself at 2:00 AM every morning.  This is the message that is being sent out by OEM:

Message=Failed to connect to database instance: ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress (DBD ERROR: OCISessionBegin).

Where do I go to find the cause of this process?
