Serial Effectivity Logic in Asset BOM

Hi ,

Would like to know what is the Logic followed for deciding the range of Asset Numbers defined under the  "Serial Effectivity" TAB  - From & To fields of an Asset BOM .

The Scenario here is :

1. Asset Serial No Auto Generation is disabled.
