tray battery replacement

Hi ,we are getting the Battery Tray.85.Battery.2 expiration date nearing, 36 days remaining.alert in sun storage 6580.The batteries are 3 yrs old now and vendor suggested to reset the age of battery. Is it a good practice to reset the age. Do we need to replace the batteries.
