Is RBAC comparable to SELinux ?

edited Dec 30, 2011 1:46AM in Oracle Solaris System Administration (MOSC) 1 commentAnswered ✓
Hello,
I stick to Solaris but it's inevitable to receive queries trying to compare Linux features.
Then, for example, the recent one is:
"Wouldn't RBAC be the same/comparable to SELinux?".
I known nothing of Linux,
but I wonder if anybody could say something, such as, "yes", "no", "to some degree", "there are a few common aspects" and so on...
despite my assumption they're different beasts.

It could be useful to know that, at a very high level, in order to better elaborate the implementation of RBAC in face of "environmental inertia".

Thanks in advance,
Carlos.
