Inventory and Stockable Option

Hi ,
I am creating an Item , I have checked only Inventory Option in the Inventory Tab of Master Item , System treats the Item as an Expense Item ,
But in actual the Item is an Asset .

If there is a way to open an Item as an Asset . Please tell
