Periodic Automatic Replenishment (PAR)

Dear , 
I have come to know that there is an Inventory Replenishment method in EBS Inventory called - "Periodic Automatic Replenishment" (PAR). This seems to be something other than Min-Max, Reorder Point and Kanban replenishment methods that we know of.
 
Truly appreciate any documentation or pointers you may have on PAR.
