US PAY: ER contributions for health insurance

How does Oracle process ER contributions for associates who are out on LOA without pay?  We made the  changes to support the 2012 W-2 requirements, but want to be sure we understand how the year end amounts are calculated for associates with interuptions in their payments or coverages.
