Contract Creation from Order Management - NOT as extended warranty?

Line 1 - Serviceable ProductServiceable Product BOM contains warranty item for 12 months; coverage template linked to warranty item covers depot service business process only Monday-Friday 9-5Line 2 - Service Item linked in service tab to line #1 of sales order for duration 12 months
The problem I've been unable to find an answer to is that OM creates the service agreement for line #2 starting on the end date of the warranty in line 1. In other words, it creates line #2 as an extended warranty where the extension is in time. We want our "extension" to be an extended service level to the customer, not extended amount of time.This is not an extended warranty time (e.g. 12 extra months) but an additional service to the customer (e.g. coverage template linked to item covers field business process only or could cover depot business process on Saturday/Sunday)
