Best practice patching zones in a clustered environment

I have a couple of clustered environments running zones.  I need to patch these servers.  What is the best way to do this?

When I patch the host, do I leave the zones running, should I move them over to another host or just leave them where they are?  I want to make sure that when I patch, I don't end up breaking the zones, or breaking something else.
