Implementing Direct Supplier and Punchout Functionality for PeopleSoft

Hello,
We are currently on version and would like to implement direct supplier and punchout functionality for our users.  In order to setup and use these options, is it a requirement to use the eProcurement module?  Can we create the setup in eProcurement and then use Purchasing for the requisitions and purchase orders?

Any help and documentation pertaining to these questions would be greatly appreciated!!
