Projects periods in pending close status and R12 upgrade

For those that have already gone through the upgrade to R12, did any of you have PA periods that were in pending close during the upgrade? 

If so, did you find that it impacted the upgrade or you worked with Oracle on getting those periods to close prior to the upgrade?

Although I have been working with Oracle throughout this past year trying to get periods to close, we may go into the upgrade with several that are still in pending.  Will there be any negative impact if we can't get them closed prior to the upgrade?
