Order Line Schedule Ship Date

We want to customize the Schedule Ship date on the order lines form to be equal to Promised date. I might do this using Forms Personalization. We use ATP functionality and just want to make sue this doesn't cause any problems. Any thoughts or suggestions regarding this matter?? Has anyone customized Schedule Ship Date?
