We have Oracle 10.2.0.3 two node RAC deployed on RHEL.
Its backup policy is given below.

RMAN full backup is scheduled on every Thursday night and cumulative incremental backups are schedule in all other days of the week.
We notice some strange result about time taken for the backup.

Full backup takes about 5 - 6 hrs. Friday incremental backup takes about 15 minutes, Saturday incremental backup takes about 1.5 hrs, again Sunday it takes about 15 minutes, then  Monday it takes about 1.5 hrs like that. We do not see a significant difference in the number of transactions at each day and sever is not busy due to some other reason as well.
