I got this e-mail from our assistant controller. not sure where to start... I'm open to any troubleshooting advise you can provide. She uses Windows7 - with Excel 2003 (I'm pretty sure).

Hi,The issue I was having the other day where I could not click back and forth between Oracle, Lotus Notes, and excel or between excel files in my opinion seems to be related to ADI. I keep having this problem whenever I have ADI open, and just found out the others in my group are having the same problem. We are all also having a couple of other issues with ADI files-all files open as protected, and we have to unprotect the sheet every time we make a change. And, whenever we try to close an ADI file, it does0
