Global deployment and Employee Self Servcie

 When an employee is transferred from one BG to another BG using Global Deployment, a new employee record is created.

Does anyone know how this has effect on the Employee Self Service functionality?

Can the employee continue using ESS and see his/her history?
or
Must we update the user and link this to the new employee record?
