R12.1.3 - Subledger Accounting vs Account Generator

Hi,

    we are implemeting Oracle R12.1.3 (greenfield) and our implementation partner has mentioned that we will probably need to customise the account generators (or accept the standard ones, which I wasn't sure you could when you are also using Oracle Projects). Should we (or can we) be using Subledger Accounting functionality rather than account generators?

If so, does this work in a similar way to the account generator/s (or does anyone have a detaied overview of how it works)?
