Perfomance issues on primary database during backp for DR database

Hi All,

Primary Rac 4 node

AIX 6.1 64 bit

oracle 11.2.0.1

-----

DR single instance database

oracle 11.2.0.1

AIX 6.1 64

using Dataguard broker running in Maximum Availability.

for the period of 2 hours we are seeing a lot of wait on commit on the primary database while backup is running on DR.

already know there is a issue with the number of redolog groups on DR as they should be more than the ones in Primary. (however this is not the cause as we had this issue before we added redogroups to primary)
