checks dated in 2012 with pay period end date of 12-31-2011

Has anyone had any problems with any DBAs not taking correctly when the pay period end date is 12-31-2011 and checks are in 2012?

our 401k catch-up was credited back to the employees on a check dated in 2012 for pay period end date of 12-31-2011; for those that met the $5,500 annual limit in 2011, it is like JDE thought that limit still applied.....
