Standard Reports and Parallel Requests

Does parallel option work for standard reports ? sometime back I was told that standard reprots like cost balance, reserve ledgers etc were being made compatible to work in parallel mode. IS this true ? if yes what all set ups need to be done.

We have applied patch

11727910 to our 12.1.3 environment and still see no parallel option inspite of the FA Number of Parallel requests options enabled.

Let me know if our assumptions are wrong or incorrect
